We are devastated to hear of the loss of one of our students, Mark Simons. Mark studied BSC Honours Agriculture with Crop Management at Harper and did a tremendous amount of work for the Students' Union.
Mark was never without his camera, capturing many amazing moments and happy memories at Harper from club matches to nights in the SU bar and Balls. He wove himself into the fabric of the Harper lifestyle and his loss will not only affect his fellow students and staff, but also the wider Harper community.
Mark was heavily involved in Harper: he was an SU exec, a trustee, a soon to be Warden, but above all, a friend to many. The SU would like to express heartfelt condolences to all of Mark's friends and, of course, his family. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
We understand that some of you may wish to send messages of support and sympathy to Marks family, please get in touch with either Rebecca Hayhurst or Russell Readman if you wish to do so. We hope, in due course and when restrictions allow, to make arrangements for students to come together, on campus, to remember Mark and we encourage your thoughts on how you would like to do this.
Any of you who are struggling with this news or need additional support should contact studentservices@harper-adams.ac.uk for guidance or call the Student Assistance Programme. They are on standby day or night on 0800 028 3766 for confidential, 24/7 over the phone support and can refer you for grief and bereavement counselling or other suitable support if you need it.
