In support of Ukrainian Culture Week in the UK, the Students Union and University warmly invite you to a short film showing of;

Academic Resilience Stories from Ukraine

This initiative is an opportunity for UK universities and their Ukrainian partners to jointly celebrate Ukraine’s culture, language, and resilience, while also strengthening the academic and community links established through the Twinning initiative.

Harper Adams University is twinned with Odesa National University of Technology

The film will be introduced by Liudmyla Fihurska , PhD from the Department of Grain and Compound Feeds technologies at Odesa National University of Technology. There will also be an opportunity to hear first hand from Liudmyla after a short interval.

Date and Time 11 November 17:00 (interval at 6pm with refreshments, followed by a session with Liudmyla 18:30-19:00)

About the film;

The academic documentary "Academic Resilience Stories from Ukraine" - written and directed by Gianluca Vagnarelli - is an output of "Academies4Ukraine. The documentary offers an overview on different forms of academic resilience through which Ukrainian universities resist Russian aggression and European universities supports Ukrainian refugee students.

The documentary shows the different practices and experiences to adapt the academic system to a war context by continuing to ensure the right to education.

During 2025, the documentary film will be presented in the context of public events in four countries (Finland, Italy, Latvia and Ukraine) with the aim to spread awareness about the fight for academic freedom and the right to education the Ukrainian universities are conducting in challenging and dangerous times.
