'Claws, Calls and Career Goals: Landing My Dream Job in Wildlife Vet Work and What It’s Really Like'

Join us for an inspiring talk with Dr Emily Baxter, a wildlife veterinarian who has been working on the frontlines of conservation in South Africa since 2016. A graduate of Bristol Vet School (2013), Emily has carved out her career caring for some of the world’s most iconic—and challenging—species.

From darting rhinos and treating injured antelopes, to coordinating with education projects like Vets Go Wild and supporting communities through the Ikhala Veterinary Clinic, Emily will share the realities of life as a wildlife vet: the exhilarating moments, the tough calls, and the lessons learned along the way.

Whether you’re a student curious about wildlife medicine, or simply passionate about conservation, this is a unique chance to hear firsthand what it takes to pursue a dream job in the wild.

A teams link is available here for anyone who is unavailable to attend in-person:
