'Bat Triage and Euthanasia' by The Bat Nurse
Join Emma White, RVN, APVN (Small Mammals & Wildlife), also known as The Bat Nurse, for an evening exploring the practical side of caring for sick and injured bats.
Emma will discuss some of the common health issues encountered in bats, approaches to treatment and supportive care, and the important considerations involved when assessing an injured or unwell bat. The talk will also explore the difficult subject of euthanasia, including assessing quality of life and understanding when euthanasia may be the kindest and most appropriate option.
Whether you’re interested in wildlife rehabilitation, veterinary nursing, conservation, or simply want to learn more about these fascinating animals, this session will offer an insight into the realities of bat triage, treatment and end-of-life care.
