For postgraduates, life can seem like one long workday, so the primary aim of the Postgrad Society is to provide a range of regular activities/events that encourages socialisation outside of a work setting. As a result of this society being resurrected, events organised will grow and develop based on what the members desire.
Currently, the Postgrad Society will aim to run two events per week. On Monday evenings, a mix of different sports will be available for members to take part in including basketball, badminton and table tennis. Then additionally, there will be a weekly meet-up at The Welly on campus on Wednesdays with the aim of fostering socialisation between different postgrad cohorts. Dependent on members opinions this can be done after lecture/work hours or during a common lunch break time to allow for flexibility of members.
Membership will be free for all postgraduate students. Any future events requiring funding will require one off payments for members wanting to attend but will be conveyed with plenty of notice and a discussion as to the interest of these events. These will be separate from the regular events during the week.
The president of the Postgraduate Society is Jamie Cundy and can be emailed at jcundy@live.harper.ac.uk
