Summary
We are the Harper and Keele Zoological Society, a community of like-minded students in the veterinary and animal care worlds with an interest in exotic and zoological species. We welcome people of all levels of knowledge and experience! Do not be put off by the fact we are a new society, we cover a vast range of species and interests, with us currently having 6 species representatives for the following:
- Zoo and Large Exotics - Greg Stanger
- Wildlife and Rehabilitation - Katie Smith
- Marine Life - Eleanor Boardman
- Herpetology - Pavneet Ubhi
- Small mammals - Emily Castle
- Avians - Ryan Liggett
We will provide discounted access to talks with experts in their fields with opportunities for practicals and trips that build on the knowledge taught (please see calendar on the SU website). Furthermore, for veterinary students and students that need EMS or placements, we aim to provide contacts and support for accessing these fields, as we understand it can be difficult to know where to start. If you are interested in our society, please follow our Instagram and keep an eye on our story for more information on upcoming talks, events, and socials.β―
