Mission Statement
Harper Adams polo club is a friendly and welcoming club that allows its members to learn an exciting and growing new sport, regardless of whether you ride every day and already play polo or have never sat on a horse before. University polo is extremely accessible as the usually high costs are subsidised significantly allowing you to take part on a student budget.
This year the clubs continues to be coached by former New Zealand international player and award winning coach, Glynn Henderson. Training sessions take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, allowing members flexibility to choose a time that suits them. Sessions are based at Walford College, Shrewsbury which is around forty minutes from Harper and members are encouraged to lift share to support those without their own car.
Members of the polo club compete in three tournaments over the year against other university teams. These tournaments allow us to put our training into practise and are a great weekend away, really helping the club to bond as we support each other. In addition to being a competitive club we have an active social calendar, with weekly socials held in the barley* and trips to equine events such as polo matches and yard visits.
*However due to on-going restrictions as of Covid-19, the club shall organise appropriate socials where possible for all members.

Inclusivity is very important in this club and is shown through this moral boosting comradeship and supporting each other in any way possible. Finally, when you join, you are agreeing that you are under 14 stone, as this is the weight limit for the polo ponies.
