On the 15th October we have our first HASU Forum for 24-25 at 5pm in the Barn.

As part of this forum, the HASU Trustee Board have called a General Meeting to discuss changes to the HASU Constitution and byelaws related to the Executive Officer structure (part time Officers).

All the information for the meeting is in the following papers:

The Need For Change

PTO desktop research

Updated HASU Constitution

Updated Byelaw 2 - Part time Officers

Updated Byelaw 3 - Executive Committee

Updated Byelaw 4 - Election Regulations

For the changes to go ahead we need students at the General Meeting to agree to them.

As well as the above we want to bring to the attention of students that HASU is planning to affiliate futher with the National Union of Students (NUS).

Currently we pay £3,250 to be part of the purchasing consortium, which means we can buy cheaper products for the Welly and Barn. If we join NUS Charity and remain in the consortium then it would only cost us £1,127.80 so a big saving for HASU.

Joining NUS Charity gives HASU staff more support and the ability to attend conferences, get support from NUS and other benefits. NUS Charity is not the political arm of NUS, that is NUS UK, which we are not planning to join. More info on joining NUS is here.
