Podcasts can be a great source of entertainment. They can cheer you up, teach you something new and help shape the way you deal with day to day situations. Best of all, they’re free and a great accompaniment to getting fresh air, whether you’re on a walk or a run.  

It seems like everyone has their own podcast these days and there are so many out there that it could be hard to figure out where to start. So, here are our top ten podcast picks for you to try out if you haven’t already.

That Peter Crouch Podcast – A football podcast that comes from a slightly different angle. Former Premier League striker, Peter Crouch teams up with journalist Tom Fordyce and BBC one radio presenter, Chris Stark to discuss what goes on behind closed doors in football. Each week on their podcast they answer questions from the public and a secret celebrity.

How to Fail – How to Fail with Elizabeth Day is a podcast that celebrates the things that haven’t gone as planned. Every week, a new interviewee explores what their failures taught them about how to succeed better in life. 

Redhanded – This True Crime podcast jumps head first into all manners of murder madness. Suruthi & Hannah cover everything from big-time serial killers to hauntings, possessions, disturbing mysteries and basically all things creepy. 

Duolingo – Duolingo is offering a number of podcasts for several languages including Duolingo French Podcast and Spanish Podcast. Open your language skills and knowledge through fascinating true stories in easy-to-follow languages, with added English for content. 

Happy Place Fearne Cotton – The perfect podcast to deal with those lockdown blues. On Purpose – Jay Shetty- Another health & wellbeing podcast delivered to you by a former monk, Jay Shetty. The Joe Rogan Experience – Comedian, UFC Commentator and TV Host Joe Rogan provides long-form, in-depth conversations with the best guests from the comedy world, the sports world, the science world and everything else.  This podcast has something for everyone! 

NHS Podcast: Couch to 5K – This is a running plan designed to get complete beginners from couch potato to running 5K in nine weeks. It’s achievable, free and easy. Starting with a mix of running and walking and building up slowly each day. 

No such thing as a fish – A podcast from the QI offices in which writers of the hit BBC show huddle around a microphone and discuss the best things they’ve found out over the week. Hosted by Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Andrew Hunter Murray and Anna Ptaszynski.
