Due to the recent government guidelines that have come into force surrounding Covid-19, we have had to rearrange a few of our activity timings throughout Welcome Week in order to make sure we are complying with restrictions.
As you may be aware, pubs and restaurants are now closed as of 10pm and this means that the SU bar also needs to close at 10pm. So, what does this mean for students? The SU Bar will open from 6pm or 6:30pm throughout Welcome Week, but don't worry, we've broken the week down to show you what times the bar will be open and what time activities will be starting over the course of the week.
Sunday - First year students will be arriving throughout the day from 10am. The SU Bar will be open from 6:30pm on Sunday evening (for collection only) with a special drinks deal on for ONE NIGHT ONLY! Choose from 4 Budweisers for £10, 4 VK's for £10 (assorted flavours) or 3 ciders for £10! This deal will only be available on Sunday night!
Monday -Cocktail boxes to be delivered between 2pm -5pm, followed by Harper Adams big quiz starting at 7:30pm. The bar will be open from 6:30pm, however, we recommend you arrive before 7pm to give you time to get seated and get some drinks before the quiz starts. Don't forget your facemask!
Tuesday - The Outdoor cinema will start at 8pm on the 1st Rugby Pitch. Please make sure you get there for 7:30pm so that we can get everyone seated before the film starts. The SU Bar will be open from 6pm and will close at 7:30pm,
Wednesday - Our Harper Scavenger Hunt will be running from Wednesday afternoon! It’s up to you when you and your herd decide to take part, but we’d advise doing so before it gets dark!
Thursday - The Comedy Store live will start at 7:30pm and will run for 70 minutes, with a 10-minute interval in between the comedians sets. Make sure if you’re watching from the SU bar, you arrive no later than 7pm in order to be seated. Don't forget your facemask!
Friday- DJ Toby Bacon will be taking over the Sunset Lounge evening at 6:30pm! The bar will be open from 6pm on Friday, so make sure you get there in plenty of time to be seated before Toby's set starts! Don't forget there will also be clubs and societies taster sessions running throughout the day! Don't forget your facemask!
Saturday - Clubs and Societies taster sessions running from 10am -4pm. The SU bar will be open from 6:30pm with a table booking requirement in place. More details of the booking system to be released week commencing 28th September.
