Careers Support

1st and 2nd Year

  • •Start the Professional Scholarship Programme (part of academic course)
  • •Meet employers at Careers events e.g. online Careers and Placement Fair Nov. 2020 launch, online Scholarship Fair Oct. 2020 and Employer and Information online events to explore your options.
  • •Book a Careers Service guidance appointment careers@harper-adams.ac.uk
  • •Explore Learning Hub student information/careers
  • •Sign up for Vacancy Service e-mails to explore part – time, seasonal work, and look at the graduate opportunities advertised.
  • •Explore other Career events e.g. Grow Your Own Business (Harper Forum), iStart, practice interviews with professionals etc.
  • •Work with the Placement team to secure a placement.

Placement Year

  • •Make the most of your placement year, by gaining great experience and meeting people who can inspire and encourage you.
  • •Use the year to start planning your final year career aspirations.

Final Year

  • •Get in touch with the Careers Service as soon as you are back, for a guidance appointment, or for practical help with applications careers@harper-adams.ac.uk
  • •Graduate schemes can open from September of your final year, so start considering employers that interest you.
  • •Meet employers (autumn online careers programme) and attend events to help you e.g.  practice interviews with employers, careers online information www.prospects.ac.uk

Beyond Graduation

  • •The Careers Service can still help you after graduation
  • •If you would like support with applications, want to look at opportunities, or need further guidance, you can contact us in person or remotely for support.
  • •You can still attend Careers events at Harper Adams.
  • •You can also continue to access the online Vacancy Service.
  • •Graduate Outcomes survey after 15 months.
