I support every community at Harper, bringing students together and championing their initiatives. I work closely with the Students’ Union to support clubs, societies, student networks, and the wider student body.
This includes assisting with the delivery of events, promoting engagement with the Students’ Union, and collaborating with HASU staff, other officers, department representatives, and the university. I act as an advocate for all students, ensuring their voices are heard and represented in decision-making.
I contribute to this through active participation in the Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Committee and the Student Experience Group, where I collaborate to help enhance the overall experience for every student at Harper.
In addition, my more individualised responsibility involves leading my own campaign. My campaign surrounds improving the industry placement experience, optimising professional development, and bettering readiness when entering the working world.
I am from Warwickshire and currently in my final year of the BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing with Companion Animal Behaviour degree. I hold a D*D*D* Extended Diploma in Animal Management and have gained five years of professional experience within a range of animal-related industries, from the exotic bird trade to sea turtle research and conservation. My particular interests include animal breeding, genetics, and reproductive health.
I have previously worked with the Students’ Union as a Raise and Give Executive and have been a long-standing Student Ambassador for the university. Alongside my role as Community Officer, I also volunteer as a First-Year Student Mentor. My background includes ten years as a gymnast, as well as experience in young leadership and trampoline coaching. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, walking, hot yoga, and listening to music.
I have experienced many pivotal moments during my time at Harper. I have grown both personally and professionally, and I have healed and rediscovered parts of myself within a community that I resonate with. I have met people who will always hold a special place in my heart and have taken part in experiences that have broadened my skillset. Harper has allowed me to be part of a close-knit and unique student community that continually supports one another.
Take the time to understand and appreciate the core foundations of Harper. Live in the moment and make memories. Be yourself, try new things, join clubs and societies, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. Accept that student life can be challenging, be prepared and hold on to the fact that you will overcome those difficult times. Allow yourself the time and space to grow and do it at your own pace.
